Activities on Maui
Whether you choose to relax on the beach, engage in active sports, or see the sights, Maui has something for you. For several years, Maui has been on Travel and Leisure Magazine's top ten islands list. (Often it has been number one.) Why not escape 2 Maui and find your favorite activity?
Five beautiful, amazing white sand beaches are within easy walking distance of our condos. Keawakapu, Kamaole I, Kamaole II and Kamaole III, and Charlie Young Beach provide hours of fun. Swim, snorkel, paddle board, sunbathe or sit in the shade! It's your choice! Maui Kamaole is nearest to Kamaole III and Maui Banyan is just across the street from Kamaole II.
You can walk along the coast just across the street from the condos. You never have to leave the shore when you walk from the Cove, past the the three Kamaole Beaches, the boat launch, and Keawakapu Beach. As you reach the end of the mile long Keawakapu Beach, continue on the paved trail that stays on the coast in front of the Wailea Resorts. Ocean, palm trees, turtles, rocks, and beaches and the amenities of the resorts all are available for your enjoyment.
DINING Many wonderful restaurants of various food types and price ranges are within a mile of our condos. One of our favorites places is the 808 Deli. We like to get sandwiches and head to the beach. Sometimes we choose to eat out back in their restaurant space. Other favorites are Maui Tacos, Maui Thai Bistro and Cafe O'lei at the Rainbow Mall. Sorrento's and Five Palms offer fine dining with ocean views. If you drive just a couple miles South, you will have a wide variety of choices of restaurants at the Shops of Wailea and the large resorts of Wailea. We especially like to go to Gannons for pupus (hor d'oeuvres) and a fantastic sunset view.
World class golf courses are within 10 minutes drive of our condos. The three nearest to our condo are the Wailea courses. Of the three, the Blue course is the least expensive. The Emerald course is a real beauty with magnificent views and is a nice resort course. The Gold is the biggest challenge at Wailea. Maui Nui Golf Course is a less expensive course along the Pi'ilani Highway.
Open Air Markets, Farmers markets, souvenir shops, art galleries, jewelry and clothing stores are in abundance within minutes of the condos. The shoppers in your group will not be disappointed as many diverse opportunities await.
Whale season brings high excitement. The first sighting occurs in late September or in October. The numbers build to a peak in February and March. You may also see whales in April and May. We have had whale sightings from each of our condos. Imagine sitting on the lanai and suddenly seeing one of these large creatures splashing. Several companies give whale watching tours. Another option is to take a tour to see spinner dolphins or bottlenose dolphins.
